Project and user requests

Request a new REDCap project

All new REDCap projects should be requested through the LIRCH REDCap Project Request Form. Approved projects will be created by the REDCap administration team.

How the process works

  1. Submit the request form. Provide basic information about the project, project owner, data type, external organisations, expected support, and urgency.
  2. Admin review. The LIRCH REDCap team checks whether the project is suitable for REDCap and whether any governance, data sensitivity, or technical issues need review.
  3. Costing review, where applicable. Funded LIRCH projects, non-LIRCH departmental projects, complex projects, and external partner projects may require service cost recovery.
  4. Project creation. Once approved, the REDCap project is created by the LIRCH REDCap administration team, and users are assigned appropriate roles.

Before submitting a request

Project owner

The project should have a clear PI, project lead, or responsible owner.

Data sensitivity

Consider whether the project will collect personal data, health data, NHS data, or other sensitive information.

Support needs

Decide whether your team will build the project or whether LIRCH REDCap support is required for setup, review, or training.

Important

Submitting a request does not automatically create a production REDCap project. Production projects may require confirmation of project ownership, governance review, data sensitivity, support requirements, and any applicable service cost recovery.
